Weekend Happenings + Novelty Buttons
The weather this weekend was split – Saturday it rained all day and Sunday was warm and sunny. If the rain had any thoughts about keeping me indoors on Saturday, it was wrong. In my car I always keep a set of emergency poncho’s (you never know when you might need one). I took one out, put it on, and began planting in the rain! However, I’m not sure I would recommend this practice because even though the poncho was very thin, I became really hot quickly. It’s amazing what an insulator plastic can be.
On Sunday, we met up with friends and family to celebrate our daughters 2nd birthday. I made arrangements at a popular restaurant chain that caters to children’s birthdays. While I think she had a wonderful time, I will never make plans to eat there again as the food was borderline unpalatable. We ordered pizza’s and breadsticks and I can honestly say that the cheapest frozen grocery store pizza and breadsticks outshine what this place could make any day. I am so glad that I brought a cake – at least we had that to eat.
I’ve been working on a few different projects when I came across these really fun fabric novelty buttons from M&J. I wish that I could incorporate one of these little buttons into one of my current projects but I will have to reserve it for a future idea. They have a bunch of different fabric buttons ranging from fish to frogs and cats to circus animals.
