Happy Weekend + All the Luck in the World

I can’t believe that yet another week has gone by and that the weekend is fast approaching.  I hope you have something exciting planned for the weekend.  Maybe a picnic, exploring a new shop, working on your artwork, spending time with family – whatever it is, wallow in the moment and enjoy.  My plan is to hit a craft show on Saturday and maybe work on a sewing project I have.  While on the subject of sewing, I think that All the Luck in the World, a Dutch vintage shop, has got one of the greatest ideas I have seen in a while.  The idea is to use an old blanket and repurpose it as a chair/bench cover.  To add interest, they embroider flowers, vines, and some whimsy onto the blanket.  The results are stunning!

To achieve the soft look of these chairs, use a fuzzy wool or mohair blanket.

If you get a chance to try this project, take some photos – I’d love to see them!  As always, have a great weekend and we will meet up again next week.

Graham and Green

I get so excited when I see beautiful furniture – especially sofas!  I don’t know why, but I almost get giddy like a kid in a toy store.  But unfortunately, I get to only “look” at them.  My husband and I have decided (well, mostly my husband) to hold off from buying a new sofa.  With two kids under two, it most likely would not survive even a year.   However, nothing has been said about any other type of furniture.    And so I ooh and ahhed over at the Graham and Green furniture website.  They are a contemporary furniture store in the UK that sells all sorts of furniture including home accessories.  These are some of the items that I got excited over…

Kitchen Rack – I think they even sell some of the dishes!

Rustic Wooden Table – I want this for my bedroom.

Chatsworth Library Armchair

Ok, so I had to throw in a picture of the sofa I want – just in case my husband is reading this post.  I love its simple and clean lines.  It would go great by the tv…wouldn’t it?  The name of this sofa, and I’m not making this up, is Dream Velvet Sofa.  I guess that’s where it stands right now…just a dream.

ABC Carpet & Home

Hope everyone had a great weekend!  We were lucky enough to have the sun visit us all day yesterday – the sun always makes me smile and feel inspired.  This weekend, I was glad that my husband and I were able to continue discussions on places we would like to visit this year.  About a year and half ago, we went to New York City and since then I have been craving to go back.  During our last visit, I was fortunate to visit SoHo and get some shopping in.  I had gobs of fun going from one shop to the next even though it was freezing outside – that happens when you go in late November!   This time I should hope to go when its warmer and have a set plan of the shops to visit .  One place that will definitely be on the list is ABC Carpet & Home.  Even if I don’t buy anything, the experience of walking through its beautifully decorated store and eyeing out their products will be enough for me!  Are these items below stunning or what?

Bokja Oversize Chair, Glass Egg Pendant

The Italian made Glass Egg Pendant is one of my favorites.  However, the below light fixture featured on the front page of their website was even more interesting, but could not find it listed anywhere on their site.  I’ll shoot them an email to ask about this.  Maybe I missed something?
