This beach house on Fire Island, New York was designed by Alexandra ANGLE Interior DESIGN. Love the bold citrus colors against all the white. Notice how every room has something stripey…
On another note, I looked up Fire Island as I’ve never heard of it. Generally, I don’t think of New York and beaches together. However, I’m highly considering adding this place as a future destination – gorgeous looking beaches.

I have her magazine subscription (Living and Everyday Food), purchased her paint, cookbooks, cookware, and a set of dishes. Can you tell that I’m a fan? Martha Stewart has now launched her own line of kitchen cabinets at Home Depot. Her collection includes eleven different door styles, hardware options, and various Corian countertops.
The collection is considered special order. If interested, you can see her entire collection at Home Depot.

I’ve been enjoying in my area what appears to be the transition into Fall. The days are still warm and full of glorious sunshine. I have flowers that are still in bloom and even some that have yet to bloom (which seems unusual for this type). But the cool evenings and earlier nightfall are strong suggestions that summer is soon to end. I don’t mind – in fact, I adore Fall and everything that it has to offer – especially the vibrant colors. This is exactly what I think of when looking at Lynn Cardwell’s Pottery. The colors are so gorgeous! I might just buy myself a set as a present. Oh, and did you notice the lighter color tone swirl in each bowl?
For the last few months I’ve been hooked on listening to podcasts. The types and topics I find enchanting are all over the place – parenting, knitting, psychology, film, do you get the idea? There is so much to learn and discover that I wish I had more time to sit back and listen. If you’ve never played a podcast I encourage you to try and download some (there are literally thousands available). All of the podcasts I listen to are FREE – so no need to go out and spend lots of money. A good starting place is Podcast and Podcast Alley. Let me know if you find any gems.
The weekend is here so it’s time to let loose and enjoy! However, I’m a bit indecisive as to what events I want to attend because they happen to fall on the same day. Not sure how much I want to pack in this weekend. Hopefully the morning will bring a fresh look at my options. What are you planning to do?
Oh, I almost forgot to mention – next week I have an artist interview planned. Her work is absolutely charming so you won’t want to miss it! Hope you have a delightful weekend.

House Beautiful ran an article titled, “A Modern Farmhouse Kitchen with an Unusual Layout“. It features a kitchen in the living room. Ruard Veltman said he “…dreamed of a house where you really do cook and eat and live in one room”. Interestingly enough, I knew a guy who did a similar thing. He dragged his hardly ever used dining room table into his living room because this was the epicenter of his home. All of his entertaining, tv watching, reading, eating, and even napping happened in the living room. Now, he uses his dining room table on a daily basis. What happened to his dining room? It was turned into an office. So practical!

I love trying new tasty drinks. I especially love parties that have a signature or house drink. When I’m in the mood for something different and have no party to go to, I check out what I have in the fridge and cupboards, and then head over to the internet for recipe ideas. I have to admit that when I try new drinks, whether at a party or a concoction I’ve made, I often don’t like it. Too sweet, too sour, or too much alcohol is the typical reason why.
I have a couple that I am interested in trying out. The first is called Limeberry Crush. This drink combines strawberries, confectioners sugar, and lime juice. However, to avoid this drink from being too tart, the strawberries need to be really ripe.
For a stronger drink, I’m interested in trying this Mango Blossom. With ingredients such as mango nectar, lemon, and vodka, I think this one might be a winner. Then just before I take a sip of the newly made drink, I add a one of my colorful straws below. I’m not sure why it makes the drink more festive, but I’ve noticed that even my daughter tends to sip on drinks she normally refuses!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a bit of a girly girl and love all kinds of skirts and dresses. In fact, you can catch me wearing either almost anytime – including winter. So, when I came across the below Funktion apparel, I was hooked. I have always had a special place in my heart for frilly skirts and dresses with sashes. These were definitely going on my “must have” list. Then I realized that these were APRONS! Take a look at how pretty these are…
One can look stylish in these aprons while making a mess in the kitchen. I love the top right full apron with pink sash. I’m so tempted to buy two and sew them together to form a dress!

Good Monday to everyone! Hope the weekend was filled with lots of inspiration and relaxation. I spent sometime at a Mom 2 Mom sale shopping for clothes and books. I also got a tiny chance to read a magazine and watch one of my tv shows.
Maybe because it was cloudy the other day and spring is finally here, I am in the mood for lots of color! So to get my color fix for the day, I head over to French Bull where they embrace the full color spectrum. I don’t think they sell anything that doesn’t have at least two colors on it! Check out the plates, bowl, and servers.
Ok, how about I meet you out back at the patio table for some potato salad?
